The Art of Dramatic Combat — Creative Summer Workshop

The Art of Dramatic Combat
Creative Summer Workshop

This workshop is an invitation to dive into dramatic combat as a raw and expressive art form. Focused, physical research and artistic exploration guided by internationally recognised teachers.

Dramatic combat is where instinct meets precision, where conflict becomes composition, and where the body speaks as clearly as text or music. We work with heightened awareness of body, space, partner, rhythm, and audience, exploring how tension, risk, and presence can be sculpted into powerful theatrical language. Of course, safety is a given — but the focus is on artistry.

There will be a strong emphasis on individual development, with extensive personal feedback and close guidance. Each participant is met where they are, challenged where they need to be, and supported in refining their own artistic voice within the work. This is for anyone who wants to push their physical and performative range and who is ready to investigate how choreographed conflict can become poetic, visceral, and alive. We offer one level for beginners and one for participants with experience. Training hours can be counted as prep hours in the NSFS test system.

Poetic Action

Frozen moments where the sword becomes the expression—sculpted energy and presence.

Visceral Partnership

Tension and trust carved into space. Partners move as one, their bodies writing a visual language of controlled risk and rhythm.

A space where conflict becomes composition and the body becomes language.

Bold exploration. Raw movement. Fearless art.
